We’re Celebrating 25 Years of Fire Protection
1st Class Fire Protection is now known as one of the leading fire protection companies in East Anglia and the South East. With 25 years’ experience under our belts, we’ve come a long way since the company launched in the MD’s home in Costessey! Now, with a dedicated facility in Norfolk, 15 team members and BAFE accredited engineers serving more 2,000 customers, we’ve got a lot to be proud about. And it’s our commitment to customer service that has got us this far.
From the very beginning, we’ve always understood that the customer comes first. So, whether we’re installing, commissioning, servicing or training, we’ve worked hard to ensure that our clients understand what we’re doing and why. Whether we’re working within business or residential settings. That’s also why we offer free of charge site surveys, and supply fire extinguisher equipment that has a five-year manufacturer’s warranty as standard. Our aim is to be as competitive as possible, while never wavering in reliability, or failing to meet our own high standards of quality. It has served us well so far!
The Changing Face of Fire Protection
Of course, a lot has changed in the last 25 years and our services have changed accordingly. Wet chemical fire extinguishers hadn’t even been invented when we started out! They didn’t come along until the year 2000, while many of the others date back to the early 20th century.
Alarm systems have also developed tremendously. 25 years doesn’t seem that long, but technology has evolved beyond all expectations. With smaller sensors and more advanced fire detection and location equipment, our technicians have been kept on their toes, keeping abreast of the changes. And now, we’re all looking forward to seeing where the future will take fire protection.

“Since the company was formed back in July 1995, we’ve gone through some difficult economic years, including the recent COVID-19 pandemic. To still be strong and trading with all departments of the company, feels like an incredible achievement.
“I’m really proud of all the team – past and present. We’ve all worked really hard to achieve BAFE accreditation on both fire extinguisher and fire alarm divisions, along with our other certifications and endorsements.
“With 2021 now upon us, it’s going to be another challenging year for all industries. But already the company has recorded its best 3 months on record, which is a massive credit to all our staff, for their hard work and professionalism. We hope this can continue for the rest of 2021 and into the next 25 Years!”
